The walls were decorated with delicate sakura flowers, hanging lanterns created a cozy atmosphere, and traditional Japanese school bags and decorations transformed our hallway into a Tokyo street. The energy of a traditional Japanese natsumatsuri (summer festival) filled the main ballroom in RUANG Petaling Jaya. We adored watching visitors immerse themselves in these genuine experiences:
Participate : Guests were able to completely immerse themselves in a gorgeous assortment of traditional Japanese clothing (yukata and jinbei) in every color and size. Everyone was perfectly styled !
The Excitement of Nagashi Somen: This was a big success! As guests tried to catch noodles sliding down a unique plastic slide with their chopsticks, laughter erupted. A tasty and entertaining task suitable for all ages.
Interactive Cultural Hubs: There was something new to discover everywhere you looked, from the colorful origami station that drew both children and adults to the calm calligraphy booth with its real ink and brushes. The festive atmosphere was enhanced by traditional games like fish scooping, or kingyo sukui.
- Live Onigiri Making: The Highlight of the Event! The live onigiri-making session was definitely a highlight. Guests gathered around a U-shaped table to learn how to make the ideal rice ball under the guidance of a talented Japanese chef. It was a really tasty and engaging team-building exercise!
• The Art of Matcha: Suddenly, the crowd buzzed. The experts from TEKO Tea Studio performed the traditional live matcha making in the middle of the ballroom. With just a small table as their stage, their masterful preparation captivated the crowd.
A Perfect Ceremonial Finale
The event skillfully transformed the area into a sophisticated theater-style setup for the award ceremony as the evening came to a close. The event, which was hosted by the owner of the academy, honored students’ accomplishments with moving speeches and a thrilling lottery. A happy group photo that captured the smiles of a genuinely special and successful event marked the night’s conclusion.
